Operating Step:
1. Turn on: Place the AED next to the patient and operate on the patient's side. To turn on the AED, press the power switch or open the cover of the display. The instrument will give a voice prompt to guide the next steps.
2. Paste: Place the electrode pads.
1) Adult electrode pad placement: According to the diagram on the AED electrode pad, stick one electrode pad on the upper right side of the patient's exposed chest and the other electrode pad on the outside of the patient's left nipple.
2) Infant and child electrode pad placement: Stick the two electrode pads on the center of the chest and the left shoulder blade behind the infant and child respectively. Larger children can also place the electrode pads in the same position as adults.
3. Plug: Insert the electrode pad plug into the AED host jack, and the AED will automatically analyze the heart rate. At this time, emergency personnel and bystanders should ensure that they do not come into contact with the patient to avoid affecting the instrument's analysis of the heart rate. Heart rhythm analysis takes 5 to 15 seconds.
4. Charge: When the AED analyzes a heart rhythm that requires defibrillation, the capacitor will often charge automatically, and there will be a sound or indicator light prompt. Before pressing the "shock" button, make sure that no one is touching the patient. After the first shock, immediately continue cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). |
