Principle:
B-ultrasound uses the reflection principle of ultrasound to form images.
Ultrasound is a sound wave with a frequency higher than 20,000 Hz, which has good directivity and penetration. When the ultrasonic transmitter transmits ultrasound to the human body, the ultrasound will be reflected at different interfaces of human tissue. These reflected waves are received by the ultrasonic probe, which converts the received mechanical wave signals into electrical signals.
Different tissues have different acoustic impedances. When ultrasound encounters these tissue interfaces with different acoustic impedances, reflection and refraction will occur, thus forming echo signals of different intensities.
Black and white ultrasound mainly displays images based on the strength of these echo signals. Tissues with strong echo signals appear as bright areas on the image, while tissues with weak echo signals appear as dark areas.
